Memorial Biography

In memory of a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and best friend. Percy "Bob" Works was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada on the 8th of March 1925 to Chester and Sadie Works. Percy was from a large family with brothers Fred and Jim, and sisters, Josephine, Doris, Mary and Edie. The family also tragically lost a son, Howard at just two years of age. Percy enlisted in the Canadian Army in January of 1943 and served in the United Kingdom where he met his lifelong partner June Evelyn Kimpton. Percy and June were married in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, England on the 17th of March 1945. Percy and June had a long life together and had 6 children - Jenny, Lynda, Howard, Leslie, Tina and Paul. Sadly, Percy and June lost their son Leslie in 1967 when he was only 14 years old. Percy and June, along with their sons, Howard and Paul moved to Canada in 1982. Percy enjoyed a good life back in his home country where he was also able to enjoy relationships with his Canadian family members. Sadly, Percy was taken from us way too early - on the 4th of August 1996 at only 71 years of age. We truly wish he could have enjoyed many more years with us. There has been so much more in life that he would have loved. He has been deeply missed.
